Manual by Stan Shantar. This book is a comprehensive
manual for Lionel trains produced from 1970 – 1978. The book
examines the components: motors, trucks, couplers, switches,
reversing units, etc. and indicates the best way to operate rolling
stock and accessories. Valuable information on fine tuning
equipment is also included as are several suggested track plans,
including one for multiple train operation on the same track.
The author also discusses the relationship between pre- and post
1970 production and examines Lionel merchandising and manufacturing
