Empire Furniture Cabinet Maker: Frank Dill or Frank Lill, Asbury, New Jersey

Img15.jpg

Frank Dill  or Lill was a cabinet maker who lived in Asbury, New Jersey in 1841.  He constructed a mahogony veneer butler secretary, circa 1830 - 1840  that has been in our family for at least four generations.  It was originally owned by Thomas and Lavina Rosevear of Hazlett, New Jersey. We would like to learn more about Dill (Lill)  and find other people who have Dill (Lill) pieces.

On the outside surface of the bottom drawer, from the secretary’s lower section.  The handwriting said:

Frank Dill (Lill)

Asbury

March 10, 1841.

We can send you an image of the cabinet maker's signature.
